Malaysia ranked 79th happiest country in the world,
ahead of Indonesia and China

KUALA LUMPUR (March 21): Malaysia has been ranked 79 on the World Happiness Index 2023 Report with a score of 5.384, ahead of Indonesia and China.

The World Happiness Report is a gauge of overall happiness, according to the World Happiness Index.

The rankings are based on reports of respondents’ evaluations of their individual lives, and they also take into account articles on national happiness.

The study contrasts with additional factors that affect (quality of) life, such as GDP per capita, social support, healthy life expectancy, social freedom, charity, and lack of corruption.

The report, published by the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, draws on global survey data from people in more than 150 countries.

Countries are ranked on happiness based on their average life evaluations over the three preceding years, in this case 2020 to 2022.

Indonesia was ranked 80, scoring 5.345, while China came in at 82 with 5.339.

Singapore came in at 32, with a score of 6.377.

Meanwhile, Finland is the world’s happiest country, according to World Happiness Report rankings.

The Nordic country and its neighbors Denmark, Iceland, Sweden and Norway all scored very well on the measures the report used.
